"Hoe Wa'a" means "to paddle a canoe." Did you go adventuring in a kayak or see a canoe regatta? The Polynesians were great navigators, finding every island in the huge Pacific ocean. but if there was no wind they had to rely on the hard work of their paddlers. We honor that great voyaging spirit that carried them across those deep blue waters.
Glass Bead | Hoe Wa'a - Blue Green
- Our beads featuring Hawaiian words and images are designed here in our studio and made exclusively for Charms of Aloha by an outside vendor. The words and images are created using a special technique of sandblasting through one layer of glass, exposing another color underneath. A clear layer is then wrapped over it, completing the bead. They have sterling silver grommets and fit most charm bead bracelets.
